I can't find in the Xubuntu 14.04 settings where the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+T is associated to the xfce4 terminal. I'd like to associate that shortcut to terminator. How can I do it?

From what I've just seen, it is default on all machine I tested installed with xubuntu live CD 12.04 but it doesn't work on 1 machine I installed with ubuntu in the past (2008 or 2009) and migrated to xfce installing xubuntu-desktop last year.
Use `chsh` to change shell
You can use chsh to change your default shell. Running this command will ask for complete path of the shell.
You can also run
chsh -s <path_to_shell>
to change the shell directly.
Change Terminator Preferences
You can also change the Terminator preferences directly.
- Open Terminator.
- Right Click on Terminator and select Preferences.
- Go to Profiles > Command.
- Check Run command as login shell, Run a custom command instead of my shell, and type in the address of the shell.
- Close the dialog box.

If you run the command:
you will get a dialogue box that will allow you to configure your preferred Terminal application as default.

To manipulate the keyboard shortcuts for the now-preferred Terminal Emulator open the keyboard settings:
and either modify the existing shortcut or create a new one that uses this command:
You will then be prompted to type in your preferred key combination.
Below are my own settings with the appropriate keyboard setting of Ctrl+Alt+T in place for the default Terminal Emulator:
