Ubuntu – How to open terminal on Xubuntu

I think there's an option to do so using the GUI, though I've never needed to change my terminal, I did go through a period of using PCManFM before Thunar had tabs.

I think it's under Settings Manager → Preferred Applications → Utilities (or something like that).

Maybe also purging the others would provide a solution - but I've tried to remove default packages in the past and found they're dependencies of xubuntu-desktop (which, obviously, you don't want to remove).

I'd like to suggest the following steps:

1. go to 'Start' at the top left corner, and open Settings Manager

   or

   open Terminal and type xfce4-settings-manager

2. open Keyboard
3. open Application Shortcuts Tab
4. click Add button (with greed-icon) below
5. type xfce4-terminal
6. trigger the shortcut, which is in this (Ctrl + Alt + T)
