I've upgraded from 16.04 -18.04, installed unity desktop and uninstalled gnome.
But I am not able to change my input language with shortcut key Super+Space. On click of Super+Space it shows the launcher with their respective number.

I want the same thing, and... there's an alternative to that and works pretty well, explained by Mark in his answer here, using xbindkeys & wmctrl.
Just install them both packages:
sudo apt-get install xbindkeys
sudo apt-get install wmctrl
Then create .xbindkeysrc in your home directory and put your desired programs like this:
"wmctrl -xa Nautilus || nautilus"
Alt + 1
"wmctrl -xa Chrome || google-chrome"
Alt + 2
"wmctrl -xa SublimeText2 || sublime-text-2"
Alt + 3
"wmctrl -xa Filezilla || filezilla"
Alt + 4
"wmctrl -xa Firefox || firefox"
Alt + 5
Then log off your account and login back again.
Using ALT+# open an instance of the defined program on .xbindkeysrc, or if that app it's already running then the shortcut will focus on that app.
Sadly you have to manually put what programs you need on your .xbindkeysrc file, but it works superb ;)
Maybe Dell changed some things, I'd ask them 1st if the laptop came with Ubuntu.
Otherwise install compizconfig-settings-manager & look in the unity plugin > Launcher, see screen. The x button on far right sets to default which is Super & enabled.

With Ubuntu 18.04 switching to GNOME, it seems that even the default Unity shortcut to switch keyboard layout isn't supported anymore.
I experimented different customized shortcuts for
Next/Previous Input SourceinSettings > Text Input, and found that shortcuts using space require either ctrl or shift to work, e.g. ctrl+shift+space. So the defaults super+space and super+shift+space simply don't work at all.Solution
You are still free to choose usual combinations like super + N or modifier-based combinations like alt + shift (Windows-style). Be careful with shortcuts relying solely on alt and super though, as they may open the Command, Launcher or Keyboard Shortcuts pop-up depending on how long you hold them.
For instance, on my Japanese keyboard I'm using ctrl + muhenkan, as it's also possible to reuse special keys.
