Ubuntu – Microphone static noise

I installed Ubuntu 14.04 with dualboot. But i have problem with microphone noise. I can not find any noise reduction in Ubuntu.

Sound quality is for me quite important, because i am talking with friends on TeamSpeak, recording videos on youtube and doing livestreams.

I have microphone in headset, and i never had any problem with it in Windows.

I tried alsamixer and PulseAudio Volume Control, but it does not help, because it only lowered my volume, but noise is still here.

Please do not post here applications like audacity, because i need realtime reduction, because livestreams and talking on teamspeak.

PC: Desktop

Sound card: Realtek® ALC892

Try reducing the input volume in the sound settings. By normal the volume shouldn't be that high. Mine is shown in the picture.

I personally use the same I'd use on windows :

OBS studio.

the setup of desktop + webcam or just webcam is intuitive.

in a terminal type

sudo apt install ffmpeg -y

then install obs Studio from flatpack or snap in software center.

personally I record sound separately (when I want to have high quality) using Audacity (I would do the same with windows) and I use audacity's noise reduction method to clean up the audio.

then I put the audio and video together in an editing app. Kdenlive in my case.

it's a bit more work but if you're not willing to invest in better hardware (good sound card or external mixer for static-isolated audio + good microphone) that's what it'll be.

If you were able to achieve static noise while recording, you were close to victory. You just had to change the sampling rate using console commands.
