How is the default browser set in Lubuntu 14.10?
In the absence of 'System Settings' (which is used in Ubuntu 14.10 etc), how are the default applications set in Lubuntu? I'm running Firefox and Chrome (and may use others), whilst Firefox seems to be set as the default browser, Chrome says it 'cannot determine or set the default browser' and had no method of setting the default as Chrome.
Turns out that there is this little application called "Preferred Applications" and you can set your default browser there. I figured this out, 2 minutes after posting my question. Well, three things are a mystery to me:
Assuming you are using Unity, click on the dash button in the launcher and search for 'System info'. Then, open 'System info' and move to 'Default applications' section. Then, click on the dropdown list next to Web. There, select 'Google Chrome' and it will be selected as the default web browser for your system.

It will present you a list of available browsers that are installed, and lets you select your default one.
