I updated the Google Chrome version, and since Opera has become my default browser.
In Google Chrome, under the default browser settings, it just says:
"Google Chrome cannot determine or set the default browser."
How do I change this?

Turns out that there is this little application called "Preferred Applications" and you can set your default browser there. I figured this out, 2 minutes after posting my question. Well, three things are a mystery to me:
- Why was my default changed?
- How is a "new" user supposed to know about this "Preferred Applications" utility? This utility is not in the launcher, and I only recalled it by sheer luck.
- Why are the settings within Firefox and within Google Chrome not working?
Click on the Unity button (top-left) and type and click on Preferred Applications. In the Internet tab you'll be able to choose the Default Web browser you want.

Go to System Settings --> Details --> Default Applications
And set Google Chrome as default browser.
