I know there is an easy way to set up mouse emulation with the numpad in Xubuntu and Ubuntu. Is there an easy way to do so in lubuntu? is there a config file that can be edited, or does a program need to be installed?

- Enable via conf file

Create a file /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/90-enable-pointerkeys.conf, with contents:

Section "InputClass"
    Identifier             "Keyboard Defaults"
    MatchIsKeyboard        "yes"
    Option                 "XkbOptions" "keypad:pointerkeys"
EndSection

- Enable for duration of session

setxkbmap -option keypad:pointerkeys

In either case, Shift+Num-Lock will toggle mouse keys on/off.

Since you don't have a NumPad, I don't think there is a way to get the normal Accessibility "mousekeys" that you're looking for.

You can use keynav instead (as suggested by sum2000) although that is a rather different experience.

You can configure it as follows (in ~/.keynavrc) to use the normal Arrowkeys, if that s what you want:

Left cut-left
Down cut-down
Up cut-up
Right cut-right
control+Left move-left
control+Down move-down
control+Up move-up
control+Right move-right

sudo apt-get install keynav

should work.

If you are stuck with no mouse movement on your laptop (touchpad) then press the key combinations Alt+F2 and type in

gksudo modprobe -r psmouse

Type in the password, press enter, and then press Alt+F2 again for entering the following

gksudo modprobe psmouse

Thats it. Your mouse pointer will start working again.

If you like to do it through the terminal, then type in gnome-terminal after pressing Alt+F2 When the terminal open up type the following

sudo modprobe -r psmouse

If your usb mouse is getting stuck, then use the following command after pressing Alt+F2
