Just upgraded from Ubuntu 17.04 to Ubuntu 17.10.
Please help me to shift the side bar (aka Ubuntu Dock) to bottom.
I tried running the following command which used to work with older Ubuntu releases
gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Launcher launcher-position Bottom
but it's not working.
Click with the left mouse button, drag a bit to the right, find the spot you want to rearrange it to and leave the mouse button
Dont mind the blue, its caused by the screencast tool
Had the same issue. Seems like a bug. I disabled the screen rotation from task bar(top right) and it went to landscape mode. Just check if this works for you. Also, xrandr does not work on Wayland.
gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.peripherals.touchscreen orientation-lock true
Additionally, the below command ought to disable the orientation plugin completely.
gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.orientation active false
Also, gnome provides an option to rotate the screen from Settings -> Devices -> Displays -> Orientation setting (search for displays in 'Activities').

Go to System Settings and Select Dock from the Left Sidebar. In here, you'll see the option to move the Launcher (it's called Dock in Ubuntu 17.10) to bottom or to the right.
