Ubuntu – How to move partition in ubuntu

I've been trying to add Free Space to my Ubuntu Files system using Gparted as follows,

But when I right click on sda10 and choose Move/Resize option, I am not able to expand sda10 into unallocated space as follows,

I've also tried to copy sda10 and place it before the unallocated space, but that option is disabled when I right click.

Gparted indicates that your ext4 partition is mounted. You cannot move it, when it is mounted.

You should boot the computer from another drive, for example an Ubuntu install drive (USB or DVD or memory card), and check that your ext4 partition is unmounted. Then Gparted will allow you to edit it (move and or resize). You can unmount the partition with the umountcommand before starting Gparted but also within Gparted.

In a similar way the swap partition can be released with the swapoff command to make it possible to edit (move and or resize). It can be swapped off within Gparted too.

The key icons in Gparted indicate that the partitions are locked.

Shrink LVM without dataloss

This forum thread suggests the following procedure, in this example we shrink a partition from 10G to 9G:

First, we unmount.
sudo umount /dev/vg_blah/lv_blah
Check the file system.
sudo e2fsck -f /dev/vg_blah/lv_blah
Resize the file system and the logical volume. Doing this in one step can avoid mistakes which cause dataloss. (Note lvreduce parameter -L interprets G as 2^30 bytes and g as 10^9 bytes.)
sudo lvreduce --resizefs -L 9G /dev/vg_blah/lv_blah
(optional) Remove a physical drive from the volume group if desired (if you now have an unused drive).
sudo vgreduce vg_blah /dev/sdxy

Note: vgreduce will fail with cannot resize to xxxxx extents as later ones are allocated if you have another lv at the end of the disk - I had a swap lv, which I deleted. See How to shrink Ubuntu LVM logical and physical volumes? for help on that situation.

You need to move the partition that is in the way.

i.e You need to move sda4 and sda5 to the left before you have room to expand sda3. You can see this from the graphical layout at the top.

Edit:

It is possible that you cant move sda4 and sda5 since one is inside the other. Can you try the below steps

Expand sda4 to encompass the entire free space.
Move sda5 to the left end of this free space(from the right end)
Shrink sda4 to again be as large as sda5
Resize your linux partition sda3
