I recently heard about LeapDroid Android Emulator, so I want to install it in my Ubuntu 16.04. How can I install this? Thanks in advance.

Install the dependencies with the following PPA:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:phablet-team/tools
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-emulator
Install
To install the Ubuntu Touch x86 Emulator, paste the following in your terminal:
wget http://people.canonical.com/~rsalveti/aosp/generic_x86/emulator-x86.tar.bz2 -O /tmp/emulator-x86.tar.bz2
tar -jxvf /tmp/emulator-x86.tar.bz2
cd emulator-x86
./build-emulator-sdcard.sh #this will download the ubuntu rootfs and create the sdcard image
To run the emulator:
cd emulator-x86; ./run-emulator.sh
Scale down the window
If the emulator window doesn't fit in your screen, the you can resize it, by going In the ~/emulator-x86 folder, edit the run-emulator.sh file, and add in -scale 0.5. To scale it down half the size.

I had a freshly installed latest Android Studio and perform all basic steps to run a 'Hello World' project in emulator
but had a same problem while running emulator from avd manager.
After that i tried running emulator from command line also but faced same problem.
After long debugging i came to find out that it was missing some core library,
and then solved the problem by selecting checkbox and install emulator from Android Studio Options.
Tools -> Android -> SDK Manager -> SDK Tools -> Android Emulator
And click Apply and Run project again.
Note :- If already Checked try to reinstall it.
Now its working like a charm.

Internally, we did all development on Linux, for each build, we make Leapdroid to work first on Linux, then build for Windows. What is missing is the packaging which we are working on right now. We should release a Linux version late in August.
