Ubuntu – Grub don’t find windows 7 loader. Can’t boot to windows after installing linux Help

Last week i installed Ubuntu 13.10 on my windows 7 System and now I am trying to boot into windows and i can't do it.

I installed GRUB-2 and i tried to boot to Windows from there but i can't see the windows loader.

So is there a way to add windows boot to Grub so i can do dual boot with windows and Linux?

I checked and the files are all there. I also used the Windows CD to recover my boot image and still nothing happened. Can anybody help me?

first mount your windows partition in Ubuntu.

then run this in terminal:

sudo update-grub

now restart.

Have you tried downloading a lightweight Linux version such as Puppy Linux(It's Ubuntu based)? My reason for mentioning it is not to install it but because you can use it to re-install GRUB and because it's Ubuntu based it will also be able to pickup Ubuntu with no problem as well as your Win 7 install. I had a similar problem and that helped fix it.

I would recommend you to run a live cd of Ubuntu and install boot-repair. Open the terminal and copy and paste the following command:

sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair && sudo apt-get update

After successfully adding and updating the repository type the following command:

sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair && boot-repair

There you can solve your issues related to boot.

Or try it with Super GRUB 2 disk.

You can download it from here.

Then install it in a usb using Unetbootin Now you could restart your system and make sure it is set in the boot option menu.
