Pdf – How to export a slide from Keynote with transparent background

I'm using an Apple Keynote to do a bit of graphics and I'd like to export that to a PNG file with a transparent background.

Any idea on how to do this? I was thinking of exporting do .pdf (which is a vector format) and then somehow changing the PDF background to transparent, but I don't know whether this is possible and how…

If you use the print dialog to export as PDF (instead of Keynote's built in export function) you can uncheck the box that says "Print backround fills" and then click "Save as PDF".

There is something off about the Export tool of LibreOffice in general. It has been years, and it is sill broken. An alternative is just taking screen shot, but obviously you cannot control de resolution.

So a better work around is exporting to SVG, and then convert the SVG to PNG with Inkscape. Once download it, you can convert the file with the following command:

inkscape -z -e out.png -w 1024 in.svg

If you are in Windows (x64), you ll need to put the full path

"C:/Program Files/Inkscape/inkscape.exe" -z -e out.png -w 1024 in.svg

If you install the 32 bit version, this should work:

"C:\Program Files (x86)/Inkscape/inkscape.exe" -z -e out.png -w 1024 in.svg

Pdf – Set InDesign PDF export resolution for vector graphics

Vector graphics are resolution independent. Basically they are a series of math coordinates. That math is calculated upon output. PDFs generated from Indesign export the math not raster images.

Chances are it's the "service" which has the issue, not any vector elements within your PDFs, unless you are specifically setting InDesign to rasterize everything upon PDF export.
