Firefox – How to download video with JW Player blob url

I am looking for a solution for downloading videos embedded using JW Player Blobs in web pages.

I have seen some answers for twitter/vimeo/other blob situations but not seen an answer to JW Player blobs.

As an example of a webpage with an embedded JW Player blob we can use this page https://product.soundstrue.com/power-of-awareness/tara-brach-compassion/

in Firefox I play the video and rightclick to View Page Info.
Click Media tab and I see this link to the video blob:https://product.soundstrue.com/d8980d59-b8eb-45c7-936e-1553bff0946f

I tried the previously posted suggestions but could not find a way to download the video.

Any solutions?

Download JW Player Videos

Using View Page Info In FireFox

Stream the video you want to download
Right click on the page
Select ‘View Page Info’

Firefox opens a dialogue box

Go to ‘Media’
Scroll down and find the video file in the list
Check the video format in ‘Type’ column
Select the file and click on ‘Save As’

How to download video with blob url

I found a way to download the video with blob url in Vimeo (reading here i understood how doing it). I write the simple steps here. I'm using Google Chrome:

Open the More Tools → Developer Tools

Check if in the video tag there is something like this:

Copy the src of the iframe tag, if any, something like http://player.vimeo.com/video/XYZ if you found it you can go straight to the point 7, otherwise follow steps 4, 5, 6.

Now look for this string https://skyfire.vimeocdn.com/.../master.json?base64_init=1 inside the page (using the Developer View), you should found it inside a javascript function, like this:

Copy the link inside the url field on a new Chrome tab, for example https://48skyfiregce-a.akamaihd.net/.../master.json?base64_init=1 end open it with a browser, it will open you a json file like this:

Now compose a url with your id XYZ like this: https://player.vimeo.com/video/XYZ
Replace blob:https://player.vimeo.com/XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX inside the video tag with that last url (the one created in the previous step #6).

Now you will notice that magically the src field inside of the video tag changed (if it does not, try step 7 multiple times)...

Downloading Deeply Embedded Flash Videos

It's tricky, but I've found a way.

View source, in Chrome/Chromium just put view-source: in front of the URL
Find .m3u8 URL. Mine looked like:

Remove all \u002F and replace with a forward slash /
youtubedl the resulting URL. It saves as an m3u8 file but plays in mplayer (mediainfo tells me it's an .mp4 file - should be fine to rename)

It took me less than half that time to find the torrent.

Usually it's one of the first two - the first one will be an ad and will have \u002Fad\ in the url, the second should be it. I've found that a more up-to-date youtubedl (ubuntu vs. debian) changes the file to .mp4 automatically. Good hunting.
