Oracle database backup and restore options

We have one requirement that export data from two different source Oracle DBs and restore the data to another two different target Oracle DBs to do data comparison. We care about the datafiles in these two source Oracle DBs.

The Oracle db are 11.2 RAC. Can we use Oracle data dump tools such like impdp and expdp to meet the above requirement? Or is there any limitation to use data dump tools for the above requirement?

Data pump export & import are just fine for moving data around; I don't know of any limitation in what you described.

From Oracle Data Pump utilities:

Dump files are read and written directly by the server and, therefore, do not require any data movement to the client.

impdp/expdp unlike imp/exp does not move the data. They only invoke DBMS_DATAPUMP package and actual data movement is done by the Oracle instance. So data pump can access external data the same way as all other Oracle procedures - loading files via directory object or SELECT data via dblink.

Oracle expdp et impdp : order of schemas

You have no direct control over the order on objects creation. Anyway, you can try to perform a full export, and then, run an impdp only of the schemas you need. For example:

expdp system/**** full=y directory=<dir> dumpfile=<dumpfile>

and then import all the schemas you want (in the order you need):

impdp system/**** directory=<dir> dumpfile=<dumpfile> schemas="schema1, schema2, .. , schemaN"

I have not done a test, but you can give it a try.
