If I get right you want cmd+option + (→ or ←)
And also you can change any shortcuts by going to Eclipse Preferences (cmd ,) and chose general in left side window and select key then scroll to find your desired shortcuts.

I am using a setting that switches F1 through F12 to standard Function keys whenever I'm using RDC (Windows Remote Desktop). Any other time they operate like their icons (brightness, volume, play, etc).

If you want your shortcut don't interfere with spotlight you can use option + cmd + space or something else.
but as you said cmd + space is really good as myself use this and replace control + space for spotlight, and use option + space for QuickSilver.
