After upgradering to Mavericks, I have been bombarded repeatedly with the following prompt:
Messages agent wants to use your confidential information stored in “” in your keychain
[Allow] [Always allow] [Deny]
No matter how many times each option is used, the popup appears again after a very short while (usually less than 15 seconds).
Erasing the Messages.app/iChat-related preference files from ~/Library/Preferences/ did not work.
That is many questions all in one. In order to manage our search engine, we prefer to have 1 question at the time.
1) I'd prefer Chrome to save the credentials in its own storage, instead sharing one with Safari. 2) If not, I'd rather it to not ask me about that. 3) Failing that, it should at least give me the right credentials.
To prevent the pop up is done with granting the Access Control in the key-chain.
Here is a sample:
Open the relevant key chain item and click on access control.
Add and allow Google Chrome to use it.
Open Keychain Access.app in your Utilities folder. Highlight one of familiar keychain entries on the right side or type a familiar name in the spotlight panel.
Then double click the entry. When the panel opens, select "Access Control".
In the "Always allow access" panel, click on the +, then navigate to Safari in your Applications folder. Save changes.
Just for good measure, go to the Keychains Menu>Keychain First-Aid and select "repair". If any errors appear, rerun until you get a clean pass.
Close Keychain Access and restart Safari.

This fixed it for me (though note the caveat at the bottom)
Open
/Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access.app, search formessage, which in my case came up with two keys that I deleted. This required Administrator rights, though.iCloud still wonky though
Probably because I trashed some of my preferences. I can live with that for the time being as it is not in my face every ten seconds.
