I have a document, I wants to use the find and replace to convert any period (.) into a new line. I can't seems to of that, in Microsoft word you can input ^ CTRL+p into the replace field. But how do you do it on apps like Pages or TextEdit?

Copy the each paragraph of the document. Paste it in the browser address bar. Copy it again from the address bar and paste it in your document. The outcome for each paste should be that part of the document on single line. Will only be practical of course if you have limited number of paragraphs.

After pasting the text, go to Edit > Substitutions > Show Substitutions, making sure 'Smart Links' is ticked, and either select the text and use 'Replace in Selection' or use 'Replace All' to apply to whole document itself:

You can click on the magnifying glass icon and choose Insert Pattern or press ⌃ CTRL+⌥ ALT+⌘ CMD+P
Then pick Line Break
