Recently I see a floating window when using Google Chrome on Mac. I can't close it. It appears on top of any web page. When I right click on the Window, there's a menu shown as below:
Would you please tell me how to hide this window? Thanks in advance!
You can make a Service in 10.6 or 10.7 using Automator that will open a selected URL in Chrome.
Here's how:
When Automator asks you to Choose a type for your document window, select Service 
Change the "Service receives selected" drop-down to "URLs"

This will open any selected URL in Safari or other application in Chrome, either in a new tab in the most recent window, or a new window if there is no open Chrome window. To access it, right-click and under the Services item at the bottom of the menu, you should see an item with the name you assigned.
One important caveat: OS X seems to be a bit picky/buggy about passing link to this sort of service. It works fine if you have text selected as a URL, but it only seems to work on some links. If I discover a better method, I'll update this post with it.
You may also need to restart Safari for the service to appear.
Just because Safari and Chrome are running, doesn't mean that they have a window open. You can either test for open windows as Mark points out or simply issue the reopen command which opens a new window if one does not exist.

Closing and reopening Chrome eliminated a un-clickable floating window on my mac.
The window was floating over most other windows on a 2nd monitor and was quite large. I was able to create a third desktop with the "show desktop" function, then drag my working windows to the new desktop (including the windows hidden behind the unclickable image) then I destroyed the crippled desktop by clicking on the X in the 'show desktop' header. However, a small unclickable image (with the same graphic as the problem window) remained hovering on the newly populated desktop.
I closed Chrome, and the image went away. It did not return when I reopened chrome and recovered my history.
This was Chrome Version 79.0.3945.130 (Official Build) (64-bit) on macOS Mojave 10.14.6 on 2020-02-12.
