I have an iMac 27", Mid 2010 (11,3 model), "Core i7" 2.93 GHz. 4*2GB installed RAM..Plan to upgrade.
Any thoughts, experience if 4 * 8 GB would work if upgraded to or is 16GB with 4*4GB max I can reach?

It Depends.
OWC continously tests the max RAM which apple computers support - which is usually more than Apple officially states.
The mid-2010 MBP is size dependent. The 13" will support 16GB. The 15" and the 17" will not.
The following table shows that the max RAM supported by your Macbook Pro based off size (mid 2010) is 16GB (officially 8GB).

Those Corsair SO-DIMMs meet all the stated specifications, even though some sites erroneously list them as PC-10666 (Corsair lists them as PC-10600).
Furthermore, if you look through the reviews on Newegg and other sites for this memory, you can see reports of people using it successfully in their Macs.
So I would conclude that yes, it's safe to use it in your 2010 iMac.
