Ubuntu – How to install Awesome Windows Manager in Terminal

Right now I'm running on Kubuntu and I'd like to install Awesome Window Manager in terminal. I've used Xmonad but I'd like another window manager, but don't know how to install "Awesome" from the terminal.

awesome is in the repositories, so

sudo apt-get install awesome fonts-font-awesome awesome-extra

I couldn't make the viewidx method working but I ended up doing the following, which worked:

Replacing xfce with awesome in Xubuntu

I know this is not correct way to do it, but I just did:

cd /usr/bin ; mv xfwm4 xfwm4! ; ln -s awesome xfwm4

And restarted X.
