Shell – How to make gnome-shell calendar open calendar app when clicking onto calendar entry

In gnome-shell's top bar, calendar items are shown. This is great. However, I miss the possibility to click onto an item and then see more details/or simply to be led to the specific event item in evolution or another preferred calendar application.

Is it configurable, and if yes how, to make gnome-shell calendar open a specific calendar app when clicking onto a calendar item?

At the moment, this does not seem possible, because no API exists, that would allow gnomeshell to interact with events from e.g. evolution or gnome-calendar. see https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/issues/262#note_540721

OK, I found how to do this at How to change gnome-shell calendar default application

Just execute this in a terminal!!

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.default-applications.office.calendar exec thunderbird

I have tested it and it works!! (it's not exaclty what I wanted but it's a start)

Display tasks in GNOME Shell Calendar

For tasks to show up on your calendar in the notification you can sync your email account using the Online Accounts option on the gnome-control-center and select what you would like to sync (eg. email, notes, tasks, etc.).

Or you can use the gnome-calendar application and input the tasks there, the notification calendar shows the appointments from the calendar.
