vmware-playerxubuntu
I have Xubuntu 14.04 and I have installed VMware Player from the official website. VM Player runs fine, no problem. But I can't find utility vmrun, it's not found anywhere in the system.
Do I have to install it alone from another package or how can I get it ? I thought it comes with the VMware Player basic installation.

Normally this answer above worked, but how about for situation where the kernel gets upgraded?
I upgraded to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (lubuntu) and VMWare was requiring a fresh compile. when it got to "vnet" part, it failed and left me with a non working VM. Ugh!
I removed VMWare (VMware-Player-6.0.1.xxxx) and installed VMware-Player-6.0.2. The install went smoothly, no questions asked. Back in business.
Gist is: remove VMWare, install it again.
This was the first thing I found - I scored the following on Fedora 19 on my laptop:
Firefox 29 - Flash Player 11.2.202.359
Chrome 35 - Flash Player 13.0.0.214
So it looks pretty bad for Firefox with the system Linux plugin - however, just as I was writing this, this happened in Chrome where I had left the test open (annoying music muted):
And since I have has this quite often before (occasionally on Ubuntu as well), I think Flash in Firefox generally works MUCH better (and more reliably, loads quicker, etc...)
A test in Flash Player is likely to be the best way to benchmark it, as I suppose the Acid3 test is a good way to benchmark browsers. There are likely to be better tests than this though.
