I thought it was a stupid question, but my preferred player, Amarok, doesn't have visualizations. RhythmBox also. Where can I find a Linux player with interesting visualizations?
My 5 years old boy want to hear his CD with the funny things of mommy's computer.
If you are looking for something lightweight than Rhytmbox, then try audacious
sudo apt-get install audacious
It is also present in Ubuntu Software Center. HTH
This command line player is a further development from XMMS. It comes with many features such as:
- play your music.
- manage your music library
- use collections to help you organise your music as you like
- allow you to control it using a variety of clients.

Clementine
has some visualizations.
Here is a screenshot of it.
Once Clementine is installed, you can enable it's visualization from
Tools->Visualizations. You can then customize your visualization by right-clicking the window that shows up and then adjust the frame-rate, quality and the different visualizations that you would like. Choosing multiple visualizations keeps changing the visualization to loop among them.
