I downloaded Ubuntu Desktop 12.04 LTS 32-bit.
Used the Universal USB Installer, but it wouldnt recognize the file.
It was a clean download and I'm quite sure that its not damaged.
Any suggestion or any other software you'd recommend?

When the installer gives you the selection to install grub to /dev/sda only, that's normal. You see, in Linux, partitions and disks are represented this way:
- Disks are represented as an entry in
/devwith no number at the end.sdas are SATA disks,hdas are PATA disks (CD drives are usuallycdrom,cd,cdrw. Same for DVDs). - Partitions, however, are represented as the device they are on (the above point) followed by a number. So, while
/dev/sdais your disk,/dev/sda1is a partition on that disk.
The boot loader doesn't install to a partition -- it installs to a disk. That's why the install is asking whether you want to install on /dev/sda, which is a disk.
Yes, if you have both wubi.exe and the ISO image for the same release, you can make Wubi use the ISO so it doesn't have to download the files again. This makes installation considerably faster!
It's advisable to check the MD5SUM on the ISO image, to make sure it's good.
Put the ISO image and
wubi.exein an empty folder.Technically there could be other files in here, but it would be confusing, and once you get additional Ubuntu ISO's in there, which sometimes happens for users who are trying different versions, it would be a bad situation.
Run
wubi.exeto install Wubi.
That's it. With the ISO image in the same folder as wubi.exe, the Wubi installer will automatically attempt to use the ISO image (and assuming it's an ISO for the same version of Ubuntu, and the ISO is not damaged, there should be no problems).
Assuming everything goes well, it should be possible to install without even being connected to the Internet when wubi.exe is run. However, if possible, it's recommended to be connected to the Internet while installing Ubuntu (whether you install it inside Windows with Wubi as you plan to do, or alongside/replacing your existing Windows or other OS by by booting a CD/DVD?USB).
Remember, the Windows installer (wubi.exe) and the ISO image should be for the same release of Ubuntu.

Try Unetbootin ,select the appropriate installer file based on your Current OS and also verify the md5sum of ISO before using it.

Distribution, because it does not lists the current Ubuntu Precise Pangolin 12.04 edition. So rather ,Diskimageoption , then Browse to the location of the Ubuntu ISO image from the....button.TypeandDriveOption Very Carefully to avoid data loss . If it is Usb Drive , most probably will be sdbX , sdcX, do a cross check and Proceed withOKoption.
