I have the newest flash player, but I cant get it to work on the website pogo.com. it says: Your Adobe Flash Player is out of date

I am very new to linux, so this is probably an easy fix, but still need help! So please help! 🙂

Sorry there is no fix for this. The latest Flash version provided by Adobe for Linux is 11.2. And pogo.com requires >11.7

As a workaround you could install a Windows version of e.g. Firefox in Wine or in a VM and use Flash for Windows with that. But that's quite ugly. I'd rather look for alternative websites/games.

Edit: Install Chromium with Pepper Flash

Open a Terminal with CTRL+ALT+T and type:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:skunk/pepper-flash
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install chromium-browser pepflashplugin-installer
echo ". /usr/lib/pepflashplugin-installer/pepflashplayer.sh" | sudo tee -a /etc/chromium-browser/default

Now open Chrome and go to chrome://plugins. If everything was correct you should see now Adobe Flash Player - Version: 11.8.XXX

I'd followed most of the advice I could find online, but ran across these extra steps to get the HAL working. It comes from a post on Amazon's Prime Instant Video support thread:

close your Chromium/Chrome and Firefox:
sudo apt-get install libhal1 hal

/usr/sbin/hald --daemon=yes --verbose=yes
rm -rf ~/.adobe
rm -rf ~/.macromedia

Then open Chromium / Firefox fresh and give it a try!

This is what I did and have DRM FLash videos working smoothly in Chrome on Ubuntu using the Adobe Flash plugin with HAL installed.

It has happened some things with Flash recently:

Previously Flash was shipped with Google Chrome, but it isn't any longer in the same way as before.
Hence the pepperflashplugin-nonfree package is currently broken, even if it is about to be fixed (new download location).
Chrome ships Flash bundled with Chrome, and there is nothing extra which needs to be done if you use Chrome.

adobe-flashplugin provides Flash plugins for other browsers, both Firefox and Chromium/Opera/Vivaldi.

Try this:

Close Google Chrome.

Remove both adobe-flashplugin and pepperflashplugin-nonfree.

sudo apt purge adobe-flashplugin pepperflashplugin-nonfree

Open Google Chrome and check if it made a difference.

My experience is that you may need to close and reopen Chrome a couple of times before Flash starts working.
