Ubuntu – how can i mount partitons in recovery mode

I am unable to login to my account and I want to back up my data from Documents folder
so I need to know how to mount other partitions from recovery mode. How can I do this?

mv /home/username/Documents /to_my_other_partitons

There is a current bug with Recovery Mode. Please vote for the bug (click the green writing at the top left of that page).

The solution is to enter the following two commands as soon as you enter Recovery Mode:

mount --options remount,rw /
mount --all

This will allow you to continue normally.

I did some web searching on "Recover Mode Read Only" and came across this post on LinuxQuestions.org website.

Shutdown the computer
Boot into Recovery Mode --After BIOS load, hold down Shift key to access the grub menu --Once in grub menu, select the entry ending in "(recovery mode)"
From the next menu selected option to enter Root Session
At the root session, execute command mount -o rw,remount / to remount the filesystem as read-write

Ubuntu – Unable to mount filesystem as read-write in recovery mode

If I am not wrong, the filesystem is mounted read-only by default in Recovery mode. To mount it as read-write, go the recovery mode and choose root. Now type the following command:

mount -o rw,remount /

Note the spaces, you'll get an error if you ignore the spaces, or add extra ones too. And then you can copy as you tried earlier.
