My question isn't actually about dual-booting them. I have a dual-boot set up and running perfectly. There is only one flaw I was looking for an answer to. Since I haven't had any success through others asking this and using their answers I'd figure I'd ask myself. Both OS's boot perfectly fine there are no errors. I do however have to boot through the BIOS everytime if I would like to switch OS's. While this isn't necessarily a problem, it is a huge nuisance to have to rapidly press delete everytime I would rather boot into Ubuntu than Windows. I'm not necessarily looking for a Graphical boot manager. More like the boot manager rEEfit that is used to assist in selecting which OS to boot into on MAC OSX. I have tried easyBCD, and it flat out just doesn't work, it'll boot into windows fine, but it gives me EFI errors if I select Ubuntu. Maybe I'm just using it wrong I don't know. If anyone can offer any help please do!

First and foremost

You have to make sure your EUFI is disabled at the BIOS. The EUFI stands for Unified Extensible Firmware Interface. To do that visit this link

How to use boot-repair to provide a "Bootinfo Summary"

If you can boot Ubuntu, you can install and run the Boot-Repair tool and use it to create a BootInfo summary.

First, install the tool using apt-get. The terminal commands to do this are

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair

After that completes, enter the command boot-repair to start the tool.
After a slight delay, boot-repair will prompt you to download the newest version. Since you just installed the latest version, answer No.
If boot-repair asks to install the pastebinit package, respond with Yes.
The tool will now scan your system and (eventually) display the window shown in the image below. Click on the Create a Bootinfo summary box/button. This will collect information about your system's boot configuration, but will not make any changes.
When the bootinfo summary has been created, boot-repair will display a message containing a URL which should look like this: http://paste.ubuntu.com/123456/.

I just did it in VMPlayer using EasyBCD 2.2. What I did

I installed windows 8 normally using a 20GB parition. Windows also created a system reserved partition.
Boot with ubuntu, created two partition. One for SWAP and one for /. Most important, choose the GRUB location same as the / partition. See pic below (I think I took wrong screenshot, bootloader location should be sda6 in picture),
Now after installation, open up EasyBCD. Goto Add new menu entry, select Linux tab, choose GRUB2 from dropdown and the disk name where we put the GRUb in step 2. Click on Add Entry
Goto BCD deployment, and write MBR
Now boot and you should get the screen. I restarted several times, every time I got the GUI boot screen. And ubuntu works also.(I forget to change the name step3)
