I use Hashtab in Windows to compute the hash of a file. All I have to do is right click on the file, click properties and in the properties menu there would be a tab called Hash and it contains the hash of the file in different formats like MD5, SHA-1 etc.
Is there something like that for Ubuntu?
There is nautilus-gtkhash to add a context menu to nautilus.
The standalone application is gtkhash.
Both can be installed with
sudo apt install gtkhash
or
sudo apt install nautilus-gtkhash
After installing, restart nautilus. You can close nautilus as follows. Merely closing all the nautilus windows is not enough.
nautilus -q
After restarting nautilus, there will now be a Digest tab in the Properties dialog box.
In general, xrdp will do what you want. And is compatible with many RDP clients out there.
The drawback is that Unity, the default WM in Ubuntu, no longer supports it. I believe, although I've never tried it, that it works with GNOME.
For my personal use, I just installed MATE desktop (as it has less "flair" then GNOME) and configured Ubuntu to use that whenever remotely logging in.

You don't say what window manager or file manager you're using.
If you're using Gnome and Nautilus you can install nautilus-gtkhash
package. This adds a "Digests" tab to the Properties dialog for a file.
NOTE: You will have to restart Nautilus with
nautilus -qbefore the tab will appear.
