I have this citation:

but Word streches the next to last line because it wants to keep the URL on one line.
I don't think this looks good (I'm using MLA style), so how do I stop it? (Or is it fine?)
1. Is it just Times New Roman that does this automatically?
2. How can I get even spaces between words in this font?
3. Can I stop it from automatically condensing?
So far as I know: 1. No, 2. You can't and 3. No.
I believe the correct terminology is left and right aligned.

I have an older version of Word but it has the same problem. I was able to workaround the limitation by holding down the Alt key and typing 030 on the numeric keypad then releasing the Alt Key at the spot I wanted the non-breaking hyphen. Afterwards I had to manually select and make the displayed text into a hyperlink with the proper href value. It may also be necessary or helpful to turn off the Auto-Formatting of Hyperlinks in Auto-Correct Options.

Change the paragraph justification from 'Justified' to 'Left'.
Usually it can be done just by selecting the left justification button as shown by the first green arrow. However, you may need to go to the paragraph properties (or the properties for the style) and change it on the Paragraph Properties screen shown below.
