I am customizing the Windows 10 desktop, and am wondering if it is possible to make the start menu show the menu that one sees when they click the expand button, by default. Here's what I mean:
Normal:
After Expanding:
Windows – Want the Windows 10 start menu to show the expanded start menu

Someone (or something) must have disabled the Windows Search feature on you PC.
To enable it back, do the following:
- Open
Control Panel Find
Programs and Features
In the left panel look for
Turn Windows features On or Off
Scroll down the list and look for
Windows Searchand check the box
Click OK and then Yes on the Window
Restart to complete the change and you should find the Search on Start menu

Seems like it's the small icons option.
Right Click the taskbar.
Choose 'settings'.
Turn 'Off' Use small Icons option.
This will show the expanded start menu
