Windows: Print 2 separate images on opposite side of paper

I have 2 images I need to print. I want the 1st of the 2 files to appear on one side of the paper and the other image on the opposite side.

Obviously you can print the first image onto one side, flip the paper over and print the 2nd side but how can I have both images print on both sides in a single print job?

I have a duplex printer and am running Windows 7. Both images are just 2 separate PNG files of the same dimensions.

Select the two pictures.
Press Print
In the Print dialogue box, at the bottom-right corner , there's a button labelled , click it.
Another dialogue box opens:
Hit Printer Properties, it should take you to the Printer's Print Dialogue box, there should be an option to do what you want (It might be named Two-Sided(Duplex) Printing/Print On Both Sides).

Create a dummy pdf-document that has two pages (of the original document) in every page.
for CUPS:

general tab: select the PDF printer from the main window / the reverse option should be - - UNchecked
page setup tab:
pages per side : 2
two sided : one sided
only print : all sheets
hit print

Either approach should be fine. It's often best to use the application's print dialog rather than the printer's as the application has more information about the document in its control.

For the 'flip on x edge' question, it depends on the layout of your booklet. If your booklet is A4 sheets folded (and so each page of the booklet is an A5 page, 4 per sheet) then you want 'flip on short edge'.

The way to think about it is to imagine holding a finished sheet of your duplexed printout and turning it over so that the text stays the correct way up. If you imagined turning it over the short side, then select 'flip on short edge'.

Another rule of thumb is if the finished sheet is in landscape then flip on short edge, otherwise flip on long edge:
