I just got a Windows CE 5.0 netbook (shown below). Despite being cheap I thought I could get somewhere with it.
Are there any Internet browsers I can download? I know regular Firefox and Internet Explorer won't work and I honestly don't even know what it has; all it says is WEB.
I too had the same problem. Turned out to be a registry issue which was fixed by CCleaner.
How I fixed it:
If another browser uses the same rendering engine as IE then it is also vulnerable. In effect, there is not much difference between IE and its ActiveX object.
Your KB article links to MS14-021 which better explains the issue. It also says:
Add sites that you trust to the Internet Explorer Trusted sites zone
After you set Internet Explorer to block ActiveX controls and Active Scripting in the Internet zone and in the Local intranet zone, you can add sites that you trust to the Internet Explorer Trusted sites zone. This will allow you to continue to use trusted websites exactly as you do today, while helping to protect yourself from this attack on untrusted sites. We recommend that you add only sites that you trust to the Trusted sites zone.
To do this, perform the following steps:
- In Internet Explorer, click Tools, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab.
- In the Select a web content zone to specify its current security settings box, click Trusted Sites, and then click Sites.
- If you want to add sites that do not require an encrypted channel, click to clear the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone check box.
- In the Add this website to the zone box, type the URL of a site that you trust, and then click Add.
- Repeat these steps for each site that you want to add to the zone.
- Click OK two times to accept the changes and return to Internet Explorer.
Use this procedure to add only the websites in which you must use ActiveX to the Trusted sites zone, so that ActiveX will be permitted for them, and them only.

I'm afraid you're probably stuck with the version of IE that's on there. I had a netbook just like this and took it back after one day because I just couldn't do ANYTHING with it. All the Windows CE we browsers I've found (and believe me, I've spent a long time looking!) are either .cab files that will only run on mobile phones (you may be able to get software to convert the .cab files to executables that'll run under Windows - .exe files - but I didn't try as I'd given up hope...), or just won't install under CE, and these netbooks are generally very, very limited in upgrade potential. Mine did not allow changing the operating system, and the version of IE on it was so ancient and slow that it wouldn't even load Facebook properly, even with image support turned off, and it wasn't flash or java compatible - well, not to modern standards anyway. I was so disappointed that it could do so little (certainly not what I'd classify as an Internet browser when it could barely load the most simplistic of web pages), it was a shame as the unit itself was so dinky and cute...
