There’s no SkyDrive synchronization. This one surprised me when I first discovered it. If you want to access files stored in your SkyDrive account, you’ll need to do so via a web browser or the built-in Windows 8 app, using a live Internet connection. The Windows desktop app that syncs files between a local drive and SkyDrive isn’t available for Windows RT. (You can open an Office document from SkyDrive, disconnect from the Internet, and continue editing it offline. The Office Upload Center will upload your changes later, when you reconnect.)
This no longer applies. Windows RT 8.1 OneDrive works identically to Windows 8.1.
There are a couple of ways:
1. Using the Manage Accounts control:
From the start screen type "account", switch to the "Settings" filter on the right, and then select "Change Account Type".
Select the user you want to change. and then "Change the account type", Select the "Administrator" type, and then press "Change Account Type".
This is probably the preferred way, as it's very obvious which account you are changing.
2. Using the Computer Management console:
Either Windows+x and select "Computer Management".
Open the "Local Users and Groups" part of the "System Tools", and then "Users".
Double click on the user you wish to make a member of the Administrators Group and then open the "Member Of" tab - Press "Add..." and then type "administrators" into the text area. Press "Check Names", and then OK.
If your accounts have the same display names, this method may be a little confusing as the user accounts will all be based on the first name with some additional characters.

If there was another possible user account on any Windows 8 (ish) device, then there should be an arrow to the top left of the picture for the user account you're on. That would take you to another screen with usernames and pictures to select who to login as.
So, if that is not there then it is unlikely that another account exists that can be used. Sounds like you need to talk to whoever you borrowed it from to evaluate and ask them to create a guest account or something temporary for you.
