I use Windows 8.1 Professional edition. I accidentally clicked the Forget network button instead of Close in the network panel for wireless connections. Now my PC can't discover the wireless network connection that I removed.
How can I restore the connection that I deleted?
The wired and wireless interface shouldn't be on the same gateway. it looks like they do. what follow should reset everything and you will have to setup your network again.
use netsh to reset both Winsocks entries and the TCP/IP stack
netsh winsock reset
netsh interface ip reset
Then clear the routing table to make sure you don't are having a conflicting one, using:
route /f
this will let you perform a clean setup assuming the network location are already cleared.
reboot and reconfigure your IP settings and networks locations

Control Panel > Classic View > Network and Sharing Center > Customize > Merge or delete network location
Highlight the network then click Delete.
But what I think you clicked on by mistake is this check-box :
To reset this option goto : HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network\NetworkLocationWizard and delete the key HideWizard
This is something they took out in Windows 8.1.
Essentially, you will need to connect to the network at least once and then, if it fails, it will prompt you to be able to forget it. Unfortunately, this is not at all easier.
If you are itching to do it manually, you can use the Command Prompt.
Start the Command Prompt with Admin rights, and type netsh wlan show profiles. It will display all the wireless network profiles stored by Windows 8.1. The list can be long if you used your laptop or tablet for more than a couple of weeks.
Identify the name of the wireless network profile you want removed, then type the following command to remove it: netsh wlan delete profile name="profile name".
As an example, I wanted to remove a wireless network profile named swisscom and I typed: netsh wlan delete profile name="swisscom".

You cannot restore a "forgotten" (aka deleted) wireless network definition.
Instead you need to add it back the same way you did the first time you saved it. The easiest way to do this is to be in range of the wireless network, then connect to it and provide the proper passphrase, being sure to enable the connect automatically check box.
