Windows – How to make theself invisible in Skype for Windows 8 without becoming invisible in Messenger

The Windows 8 Metro interface is designed to operate using fullscreen apps that don't do a lot of background interface activity such as hotkeys.

For the particular IM system in question, such as AIM, if you use the official app, you will most likely have a System Tray icon that you can right-click and toggle visibility.

If you have a Hotmail / Outlook email account, visit outlook.com from your web browser and click on your profile picture (top right). Set the status to "Invisible".

Now quit your Skype application and open it again.

It resolved switching from Invisible to Online status.
