Windows – How to get Windows Command prompt to display time

I would like my command prompt (not powershell, just command prompt) to show the time, something like this:

14:02>

Is there a way to do this? Basically, I leave things running from the prompt, and it would be nice to see what time I executed various commands.

You cannot do that in DOS.

If by DOS you mean the Windows Command Processor cmd.exe then you can get the output of a command with for /f:

for /f %%x in ('date') do set "today=%%x"

Depending on your requirements this can get a little more complex.

For the PROMPT command, from this page, it says to use $T for 12-hour time. This DOES still have the tenths/hundredths of a second, but I don't think this can be removed.
