Sometimes I go to a website and Firefox asks me "Would you like to enable notifications for this site?" I never want any notifications and I always answer no, but I hate it when it keeps asking me that all the time. Are there any about:config tweaks that can help?

Make sure you have your proxy configured correctly.
I use the manual setting.
Also check the "Do not prompt for authentication if password is saved".
Then initiate a page load, for example www.google.com, just so that Firefox asks for your proxy user and password.
When Firefox asks you to save the password, please do so.
