Windows – Finalize CD/DVD after one write

I am looking to burn files to a CD or DVD and finalize it after the first write. I don't want to be able to add any other files in the future, regardless of the free space. I can't seem to find a program that does this, and "master" and "finalize" don't bring up the solution I want. The only thing I can think of is writing junk or filler data. (e.g. I write 100 MB of files. I fill the remainder with filler data so that the disc is full and cannot be written to again.)

Choose Data Disc, and add files. Select Actions > Burn Compilation > to a Compact Disc. Accept all default values and hit OK. This uses the CDFS instead of UDF, which prevents any additional changes to the disc (specifically, using remaining space).

DVD Shrink can do this if you use the "Re-author" mode. No need to rip it first - just go to "open disc", then click on "Re-author". From there you can add the titles you want, as well as removing unnecessary audio tracks.

You'll probably mostly just need the Autorun.info Entries link at the bottom of that page.

Note: If you have file extensions hidden by default in Windows explorer, it will probably save your file as Autorun.inf.txt, so if it doesn't work - that may be why. To toggle that:

Open Windows Explorer (just navigate to a folder)
Hit ALT on your keyboard
In the menu that appears up top, select Tools > Folder Options
Select the View tab
In the Advanced Settings scrollbox, toggle the checkbox for Hide extensions for known file types.
Double check the naming of your Autorun.* file to make sure it saved correctly.
Once you're done, feel free to re-hide extensions if you prefer that view for normal use.
