Windows Convert Folder to Floppy IMG

I have a folder on my computer whose contents contain a program that originated from a floppy. The Windows computer I am currently running does not have a floppy drive.

Is there a program which can convert the contents of a given folder to a floppy IMG or IMA file? All of the programs that I see require the files to originate from a floppy before it will package them into a IMG file.

This file should not be bootable.

You can try using Virtaul Floppy Drive.

However, you will need some efforts to install it on Windows 7 SP1 x64.

EDIT: It does not work on x64 machines since the driver is meant only for 32 bit machines.

Why won’t the floppy mount

I have apparently been able to get the floppy to mount:

mount -t ext2 /dev/fd0 /media/floppy

I also had to add an entry to my /etc/fstab file. This seems to have fixed the mounting problems I was having. However, I would still like to be able to see the floppy's directory. If I give the command:

dir /media/floppy

I get the contents. But this doesn't necessarily give me a warm fuzzy about whether the disk truly has the contents I desire. So if there is a way to confirm the contents of the disk, let me know.

I had some partial success and was able to get some files out of the archive. First, I created an "fd" directory to mount those floppy images, then for each floppy image, I did the following:

sudo mount -o loop floppyxx.img fd
cat fd/myzip.zip >> combined.zip
sudo umount fd

Once I had a combined archive, I did this:

unzip -FF combined.zip

There are fewer files I was able to extract than I'd hoped. I'm still open for seeing if there's a more effective method of repairing a multi-disk zip archive.
