From inside a RDP full screen session, I would like to have a "ALT + tab" switching functionality which switches to next window in the RDP client computer, preferably with "Win + tab" key.
Is there any solution/ suggestion?
PS: the two step process of clicking ALT+CTRL+BREAK and then trying to use ALT + tab is known and is not a solution for me.
Any RDP utility using RDP virtual channel which achieves this purpose is also good for my purpose?
Native within OSX, you can remap existing menu items. If your application has a menu item for CMD+TAB, you are in luck.
For me, I needed to disable (or remap) CMD+W when using Microsoft Remote Desktop (muscle memory would press CMD+W to close a tab within a remote session and would accidentally close my remote session). I originally tried karabiner but it was way overkill for this.
How to remap a command for specific application:
Shortcuts Tab -> App Shortcuts pane -> Click the + button to add new application specific command remap
Edit the connection and go to the Display tab and uncheck "Display the connection bar when in full screen mode".
To get out of the remote desktop and back to your desktop use CTRL+ALT+Break. This will window the RDC.
To go back to full screen use CTRL+ALT+Break again.

By default, Alt-Tab will switch windows on the remote computer. When you refer to the "client" computer, do you mean the local computer or the remote computer? If you mean the local computer, then the only workaround I know of is to change the connection's keyboard setting (on the Local Resources tab) to "On the local computer".
