Windows 8.1 Store apps minimizing automatically

Almost all my Windows Store apps are minimizing by itself in the app splash screen, then when I click to open it again or press the Windows key + Tab key to maximize it is still at the splash screen and keeps there forever.

Even the Store app is doing that, so I can't install or update my apps.

Does someone know how to fix this problem? What should I do?

I had the same problem on my Windows 8.1 N (version without Media Player)

I solved this by installing Windows Media Player.

Found this on another forum. Open a command prompt and run the following:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage
           -DisableDevelopmentMode 
           -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml

(All on one line.)

Windows 8.1 apps won’t open or load

I would first boot windows up with only the essential boot items. This can be accomplished through the task manager under the startup tab. Failing that working refresh the system which will keep your data intact but reload the OS. You will have to reinstall programs from scratch.

You could also try running a chkdsk /R from an elevated command prompt.
