Windows 10. File explorer suddenly terribly slow

I have a very fast computer. No problem working with it. Until now.
I decompressed a zip file that contained 5 json files.
The zip took a lot to decompress, so I cancel it.

Since then, no matter if I restart the computer file explorer is incredibly slow.
If I press (windows key)+E , file explorer does not open (as before)
and to load the icons takes like 5 minutes

Also the green bar in the upper side is slow

Is there something slowing my file explorer? Any help will be welcome

First thing to try is a complete reboot. shutdown /s /f /t 0 As windows reboot in Newer versions is not same as old versions for the sake of faster boot times. If your problem persists consider posting a screenshot of task manager here. It is a general issue with Windows which may occur randomly.

I've seen this happen before and it was a NETBIOS name issue (can happen even if you use the IP) -- try adding the computer name to your HOSTS file and see if it still happens.

Open Start > Run
Run "notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts"
Add "192.168.1.101 ComputerName" to the file

Not sure why this happens unless maybe Windows tries to match the IP address to a NETBIOS hostname.

Of course it could be another issue but this is something easy/quick to try.

Report this to the dropbox team so that they can fix it. In the meantime, use ShellExView to disable the Dropbox-ShellExtensions.

// Edit. I also see that you use google drive. This is also known to causes Explorer crashes. Disable the sync icons in google drive if disabling Dropbox doesn't fix it.
