uTorrent – How to Stop Automatic Startup on Windows 10

I installed uTorrent couple of months ago and while installing I unchecked the box that says "Start uTorrent with Windows" and it worked that way until few days ago when I turn on the PC uTorrent is already up and running, it seems like it doesn't even need time to start. I thought some settings got messed up and went to Task Manager->Start Up but uTorrent was't there. What can I do to stop it from doing that? Running on Win 10, latest version of uTorrent – 3.5.0 build 44294

Verify that the startup option is disabled in uTorrent options.
Check if you have a uTorrent shortcuts under C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp\, if so - remove it.
- When windows start, it will run each of the files in that directory.

From comments below it appears that hide.me regularly checks whether its start-up entry had been deleted and the program will recreate it if it is missing. In this case you need go into the settings for the application and disable it.

Autoruns from Microsoft Sysinternals can show you almost every start-up location in Windows and can disable items for you.

There may well be a start-up link or registry entry hiding somewhere that can be deactivated.

which caused the autostart

Windows classifies HDDs and SSDs by a special manufacturer serial/code ID.

This is easy to be messed-up with updates that could make tags fall into other category.

It is however irrelevant, it does not impact anything.

Don't worry, it will probably be fixed in future updates if it's reported enough.
