Ubuntu – How to import an mbox file into evolution mail ubuntu

So here's what I found worked for me:

• Start up Outlook so that you can use it's DLL access to the data
• Start up Thunderbird and use the File|Import wizard to import mail from Outlook. This creates a bunch of mbox formated files inside a directory structure that matches the Outlook folder structure from which they came.
• Exit Outlook and Thunderbird.
• Copy the new mail files and directories from the Thunderbird profile Mail directory into the Evolution profile Mail directory. In my case, this meant copying to a whole new machine. I put them under the local mail directory.
• Start up Evolution. If all went well, Evo should notice the files and directories and show them as mail folders in the "On This Computer" folder.

One workaround is to configure svnnotify with the -a parameter instead of -d (see svnnotify docs) so that instead of sending a email with the svn diff inline in the email, it sends a email with the diff as a email attachment. The advantage of this is that I can click on the attachment in Evolution and "Open with gedit", for example (gedit knows how to syntax hightlight a diff so it is more readable).

Meta: I won't accept this as a answer, because it is only a workaround. Perferably I'd like to receive the diff inline and have it rendered by Evolution.

Another workaround is to use Thunderbird for my mail client - but I like Evolution, the killer feature for me is the contacts sync with Ubuntu-one account.
