After TortoiseSVN bugged me to update, i downloaded a new installer and ran it. It still works fine now, though it does not properly display icon overlays (despite that option being on in the settings). How can i fix it?

Settings dialog->Icon Overlays->Exclude paths: Set this to e.g.,
C:\*
Then set the include paths to the path where the working copy is, e.g.
c:\users\mydocuments\myworkingcopy*
Check that the ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers are set up in the registry correctly.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers
You should have nine entries for Tortoise.
Windows will only load the first 15 entries so if there are others in there before the Tortoise ones which push them past 15th they will not get loaded.

If you've just updated to 1.6.8 (as I have), you might have to do a repair install to fix the icon overlay issue. As detailed on the TortoiseSVN blog here.
