I had a private conversation with someone over IM and then added a third person to the group for a call. Is the third person able to see the history of my previous conversation? Or they only can see history from the point they joined the conversation?
I've searched everywhere for info on this and can't confirm, I'm very worried!
I'm not sure if this shows the entire history, but try the following. Whether the contact is online or offline, pop up the chat window.
Then click "All" under "View earlier messages:".
Alternatively, click the gear icon for the contact and select "View Chat History". That generates an html file that is opened in your web browser window.
The reason I'm not sure if this shows all the history is because I can't fully remember when my chat history began on this computer.

And in the old versions (not sure about the new ones), the chat only get synced when the other contact is online, i.e. at least one device with the original transcript and history must be online in order for it to be synchronised.

Default Skype settings are to NOT SHOW any messages before joining group chat. But you can override that with
/set options +HISTORY_DISCLOSED, which would make skype show chat history up to 400 messages or 2 weeks back (whichever is less).
