Remote Desktop to a user while still logged on

Is there a way to connect remotely to another user while there is a user still on the same PC.
So one PC with users and both of them logged in at the same time, one locally and one remotely?

Sorry i didn't explain my question very well, I don't mean 2 users viewing the same screen. I mean 2 user accounts. Say UserA is sitting at the desk on his account. and then UserB is on his account account but it remotely connecting to it. So they both have different desktops in front on their respective screens.

As far as I know, Microsoft Windows desktop OS (XP, Vista, 7) do not allow for multiple simultaneous session. Only Windows Server (with Terminal Server) allows for that. A limited number of remote desktop session are allowed by default with every Windows Server license.

On Windows XP their were report of successfully setting it using DLLs from Windows Server. It is an ugly hack. You can find the instructions at a couple of places.

I may delete this based on your answer, but if you are using the same username, it will assume you don't mind kicking yourself off, but it will ask both sides if they want to do it if they are different users.

I tested with a standard user currently logged in, and an administrator connecting to make sure it would still ask.

Screenshot one: "Another user is currently logged on to this computer. If you continue, this user has to be disconnected from this computer. Do you want to continue?"
Screenshot two: I clicked yes above, and it says "Please wait for KCotreau-PC\Test (the name of the standard user) to respond".
Screenshot three: This is of the screen of the computer being remoted into, and it gives the user, KCotreau-PC\Test, the option to disconnect immediately, do nothing and it will happen anyway in 30 seconds, or to cancel and not allow the incoming connection.

If you are the same user logged in and RDP'ing, it just does it.

So if you are both using the same user, just set up two different ones, and it should work as you want. Otherwise, I am not sure how else to do it.

using the group policy editor, browse to:

Administrative Templates\Windows components\Remote desktop services\Remote desktop session host\Connections

look for Set rules for remote control of Remote Desktop Services user sessions and give it Full control with user permission in the options list.

so here the local user is to be promptd for confirmation when someone tries to log in. and it should apply for every login attempt.
