I have a 70+ page PDF file that is protected so it can not be printed by standard tools like Acrobat Reader etc. Is there a way that I can have this printed out?
Preferably without GhostScript if possible, if not, GS solution is also welcome 🙂

In the print dialog, uncheck Auto-Rotate and Center. This will stop Reader from trying to adjust the print:
Run either command from the terminal or command-line.
MacOS
strings /path/to/document.pdf | grep -i FontName
Note: MacOS might require you to install the command-line tools first.
Windows
findstr FontName C:\path\to\document.pdf

Try A-PDF Restrictions Remover or convert the pdf by uploading it here and downloading it again. This time it won't have any restrictions.
