I'm using Foxit Reader to read PDFs on my Windows 8, and sometimes it crashes. According to the crash message, it crashed because of a specific plugin installed on it. When I go to Help -> About Foxit Plug-ins I can see the plugin's name, but there is no option to disable it there. I'd like to disable this plugin. How can I do it?

You may have to do it manually. From the Mozilla KB:
Manually uninstalling a plugin
If you can't use an uninstaller program to remove a plugin, you can remove it manually:
- In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter.
- Search for the preference:
plugin.expose_full_path
. - Double-click on the
plugin.expose_full_path
preference in the list to change the value totrue
. - Enter about:plugins into the Location bar to display the About Plugins page.
- Each entry in the About Plugins page will have "File name:" followed by a path. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the folder shown for the plugin you want to remove.
- Rename the file to something other than its normal name - e.g.
npswf32
becomesXnpswf32
.
The plugin will be removed.

Manage plug-ins
Plug-ins add more functionality, but they also increase the memory needed
and security risks. To minimize memory requirements, you may want to install only the plug-ins that you use. To load a plug-in correctly, you must place it in the plug-ins folder. You can temporarily disable plug-ins when starting your software.Disable a plug-in
Do one of the following:
- (Windows) Open the plug_ins folder (Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\plug_ins).
- (Mac OS) Control-click the application icon, and choose Show Package Contents. Then double-click the Contents folder and open the Plug-ins folder.
- (UNIX) Move the plug-in out of [location of install]/Adobe/Reader9.0/Reader/plug_ins.
- Select the plug-ins you do not want to load, and move them out of the folder. Some of the plug-ins may be in folders nested inside the plug-ins folder.
Disable all plug-ins temporarily
- Press the Shift key immediately after starting Acrobat.

I had this problem too. Actually, the only solution that I found was to delete/move *.fpi files (which are the files related to the plug-ins). Then close and re-open Foxit.
They can be found at --> "C:\Program Files (86)\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader\plugins"
Regards.
