When copying a lot of files all from different locations to the same location, using Windows Explorer, Windows always creates multiple copy processes, slowing everything down.

easiest thing to do is to write a batch file for what you want do, for example open notepad and copy the following:
@echo off
echo Starting batch script
copy c:\temp\*.* c:\temp2\*.*
del c:\temp2\test.exe
echo all file operations complete
Next, save this somewhere as anything .bat and you can run it either by double clicking, or going to the command prompt and typing its name. All operatings you write in it will get processed in order.
UltraCopier
UltraCopier is a free and cross-platform copy utility that is currently in development, so it's not that neat and polished yet. Once you install it, it sits in your menu bar.
It manages a copy list that allows you to queue copy or move jobs, which are then sequentially processed. You can also define the copy process priority as well as the block size of the transfer.
With the new version you can group with similar source and/or destination, or just always or never.

I use TeraCopy for this. Simply a much better tool than the default copy handler for Windows.
And it handles file copies sequentially instead of trying to multitask everything simultaneously resulting in NO performance.
